Opening Bell – Nifty opens above 9600, Sensex rises over 65 points

STOCK FUTURES TIPS:-

the BSE Sensex opened at 31222 higher by 67 points, while the Nifty50 opened down by 1 points at 9617 mark.
 

• Wipro is the top Nifty gainer and Bank of Baroda is the top Nifty loser in the morning hours.

• There are 692 advances, 642 declines and 480 unchanged stocks on NSE reflecting some positive bias floating in the market.

• The rupee opened at 64.27 per US dollar higher by 3 paise on Thursday. The rupee closed at 64.30 on Wednesday.

• Nifty50 index has immediate support placed around the level of 9,580, and if it holds below this level, further corrections up to the level of 9,550 is likely. On the upside, Nifty50 needs to sustain above the level to witness up-move towards the levels of 9,700-9,740.

• The US stocks closed mixed on Wednesday after Fed hiked rates. The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed up 46 points at a record 21,375. The S&P 500 declined 2 points to finish at 2,438. The Nasdaq Composite Index slipped 25 points to close at 6,195. The US Federal Reserve hiked the Fed rate by 25 basis points along expected lines. The enhanced rate now stands in the range of 1-1.25%. Fed has also guided on one more rate hike this year.

• Most Asian stocks have declined in early trade on Thursday. Japan’s Nikkei 225 has been trading with loss of 105 points; Hong Kong’s Hang Seng has lost 239 points, while China’s Shanghai Composite has shed 8 points.

• Broader market indices are outperforming the major indices in the market. Sona Koyo Steering Systems Ltd. is the top gainer in BSE Small-cap index. It is trading higher by nearly 15% at Rs 95.3 per share. Specialty Chemicals small-cap company, DIC India Limited is trading higher by 15% at Rs 519.95 per share.
• IT stocks are losing their grounds in the morning hours on Tuesday. Tech Mahindra, Just Dial, HCL Technologies, Wipro, Infosys, Mindtree are trading in negative territory.
• There are 1099 advances, 428 declines and 416 unchanged stocks on NSE reflecting strong positive undertone floating in the market.
• At 10 AM, the S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 31165 up 69 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 9633 up 17 points. A total of 43 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 26 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
• The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up 0.5% at 14869, whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading up 0.73% at 15567.
• Some buying activity is seen in Capital Goods, Banks, Pharma, Auto, while IT, Metal are showing weakness on BSE.

Opening Bell – Nifty opens above 9700 for the first time, Sensex opens at record high

the BSE Sensex opened at 31420 up by 111 points, while the Nifty50 opened up by 29 points at 9704 mark.
  TCS is the top Nifty gainer and Bharti Airtel is the top Nifty loser in the morning hours. TCS is trading at Rs 2651.40 per share up by 1.82% whereas Bharti Airtel is trading at Rs 369.85 per share, down by 0.68%.
  There are 814 advances, 511 declines and 486 unchanged stocks on NSE reflecting some positive bias floating in the market.

The rupee opened at 64.32 per US dollar higher by 4 paise on Tuesday. Rallying for the fourth straight session, the rupee on Monday strengthened by 8 paise to close at a near three-week high of 64.36 a dollar on steady selling of the American currency by state-owned banks and exporters.

Nifty50 is likely to face immediate resistance around the levels of 9,700-9,710. If it holds above these levels, a rally up to the level of 9,750 is likely. On the downside, the support for Nifty50 index is placed in the region of 9,620-9,630.

The US stocks showed a lack of direction throughout the trading session on Monday. Eventually, the session ended with nominal losses. The Dow Jones Industrial Average slipped 22 points to 21,184. The SP 500 declined 3 points to finish at 2,346. The Nasdaq Composite Index closed lower by 10 points at 6,296.

Most of the Asian shares declined marginally in early trade on Tuesday. Japan’s Nikkei 225 has fallen 122 points. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng has advanced 77 points and China’s Shanghai Composite has shed 3 points.

Karnataka Bank slashes home loan rate by up to 40 bps|stock cash tips|

Karnataka Bank, a scheduled commercial bank has slashed housing loan interest rate by up to 0.40% or 40 bps effective from June 1.

 

• The bank in a regulatory filing said that for the housing loans up to Rs 75 lakh the interest will be 8.60% per annum and the interest rate on housing loans above Rs 75 lakh and up to Rs 5 crore will be 8.90%, per annum.

• Karnataka Bank, MD and CEO, Mahabaleshwara MS said that the rate cut along with the expected reduction in prices of houses upon implementation of GST will benefit customers and will boost the demand for the housing sector.

• The private sector bank has a total of 769 branches across the country and 1,400 ATM locations besides 110 e- lobbies. 

Stock view:
 

• Karnataka Bank Ltd ended at Rs 176.8, down by Rs 2.15 or 1.2% from its previous closing of Rs 178.95 on the BSE.

• The scrip opened at Rs 180.9 and touched a high and low of Rs 181.15 and Rs 176.05 respectively. A total of 6333768(NSE+BSE) shares were traded on the counter. The current market cap of the company is Rs 4998.2 crore.

• The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs 10 touched a 52 week high of Rs 181.15 on 02-Jun-2017 and a 52 week low of Rs 100.2 on 22-Nov-2016. Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs 181.15 and Rs 164.75 respectively.

• The promoters holding in the company stood at 0 % while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 30.76 % and 69.24 % respectively.

• The stock traded above its 50 DMA.

Nifty is likely to open in a positive note with around 40 points. Bulls are getting served by bears in party. Bears are not able to take over bulls till nifty is trading above 9550 fencing. Positional traders are advised to trail their stop loss at 9550 for longs. While for contra positions it should be placed at 9650.Intraday traders are advised to buy nifty around 9625 with a stop loss of 9580 for the target of 9675.
